We went to Target together and he got a little set of Toy Story figurines...he kept holding them up and saying, "I'm gonna be Woody and Uncle Jon is gonna be Buzz!!!"

After we dropped Charlotte off at camp, Nate and I went on a breakfast date...his choice.  Of course, he insisted on "Donald's"

Getting cozy and watching a few shows before bedtime!  I don't like this, because it reminds me of ET, who..even at the age of 34, I still have a major fear of.

Last week, Kevin took some time off work so we could do some family stuff.  We decided to head downtown to Navy Pier to see the boats and have some fun!  

One of these days, you children will smile for me...it will happen!

 Charlotte and I rode the Ferris Wheel...as you can imagine, Daddy was having none of that.  Thank God he didn't, it got a tad windy up there...it was even making me nervous!

After we were done at Navy Pier, it was right around rush hour.  So, we decided to head back to Lincoln Park and have dinner and stop by and see our old building.  We got to hang out with our neighbors Susan and Jack.  It was so good to see them!  Right as we were wrangling the kids to leave, Nate grabbed a handful of their hedges...and refused to let them go.  I had to pry them out of his hand when he went to bed later that night.  He didn't want to leave..he needed a memento :)

Waterpark Birthday Party

This morning, we went to our friend Lanie's 3rd Birthday party.  The kids had a great time at Cypress Cove Waterpark in Woodridge!  You can rent out their splash pad for parties, but you can only do that from 8:30 to 10:30am.  So, the kids and I headed out early to splash around and have fun.  

Char fresh off of a trip down the waterslide.  She was a little nervous the first time, then after she did it once, I didn't see her for 45 minutes...she was going down and going right back up to go again.

Let's Go Again!  After one of her trips down the slide, she came over and said, "Mom, I'm having a brilliant time!!!"  Peppa Pig strikes again!

 Char, having just brushed her teeth, did not enjoy her 9:30 am cupcake that much....she once again, declared that it tasted like wine.  She also made sure that I wiped her face off before she went back onto the slide, just in case anyone happened to be allergic to cupcakes.  There was a little boy in her class allergic to peanuts, so we always had to wash her face after she had peanut butter..because it wasn't safe for him.  She now applies that logic to everything.  

Grove Fest

Grove Fest is in full swing! We took the kids this afternoon for their annual dose of Carnie madness. Here are just a few pics from my phone. I'll upload the rest from my camera later. I discovered an iPhone app that lets me blog from my phone! So, perhaps I will blog more little teasers with my newfound technology!

Camp Day

Charlotte got a fancy camp t shirt to wear on walking field trip days. Bright orange, so you can see those kids a mile away. They are walking to the fire station today, so she had to don it for the first time. It's huge!!! So, I has to whip out some 80's fashion magic in order to make it work!
