Nathan very proud of his spider he made at school...they were reading Little Miss Muffet
This winter has been brutal!!! The kids are stir crazy, as am I! They need to run around and exercise. So, I cleaned up our (unfinished) basement and brought the kid's bikes down there so they could ride around for a while!
In addition to bike riding, we are doing lots of arts and crafts since we have been house bound....here the kids are painting pictures of summery things! We can dream, right!!!!?????
A few weeks ago was Dr. Seuss's birthday. Charlotte's teacher encouraged parents to send in "Seuss-themed" snacks with the kids if we wanted. Well, you know that I was all over that, lol!! Here is a take on "Green Eggs and Ham" that I found on Pinterest. Super cute!
I spent all afternoon one day making these "Cat in the Hat" jello parfaits. I had to wait for each layer to set and then gently funnel in the next layer. They were adorable...and I found out that both Nate and Charlotte hate jello! Time well spent!!!
I couldn't wait for Wednesday. One of Charlotte's favorite books is Wacky Wednesday. So, I planned an elaborate trick on Charlotte for her lunch that day. I packed her a fake lunch full of inedible items and attached the following note to it...."Charlotte, it's Wacky Wednesday! Can you find anything WACKY about your lunch?"
When she opened her lunch, this is what she found. I had obviously talked to her teacher before hand and given the teacher's aide her "Real" lunch. Well, from what Charlotte says, she cried at first because she was starving and then she laughed because she thought it was funny! When I picked her up that afternoon...She saw me and marched to my car with her hands on her hips and said, "GINA CLINNIN!!! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!!!!!" It was so funny...she called me by my full name, lol!
I made her pistachio pudding to look like "oobleck" FYI..I found out that Charlotte hates pistachio pudding...
For the last day, I had pretty much given up on being creative and having Charlotte come home and say, "No offense mom, I hated it..." So, I got her animal crackers and Swedish fish.
Charlotte and Nate's swim teacher bet Charlotte a Shamrock shake that she couldn't swim one length of the pool without stopping...as you can see, Charlotte proved her wrong!
We went over to Uncle Jon's last weekend for his birthday celebration. Char and Nate threw on their jammies and joined Henry in his bed for a bedtime story. Henry looks thrilled to have guests in his bed!
Charlotte got to spend some quality time with her cousin, Annabelle at a baby shower this weekend!
Aunt Liz taking some fun "selfies" with Char and Nate!
Here's my little Irish Nugget on St. Patrick's Day! We were the snack leaders at school that day, he was very excited. Unfortunately, Charlotte did not get to go to school on St. Pat's due to a fast moving stomach bug :(
