The Failed Christmas Tree Hunt

It was a beautiful day in December...sweatshirt weather.  So, we figured, let's go get our Clinnin family Christmas tree.  There is a local farm in Downers Grove where you can cut down your own tree.  So, we got the kids dressed and headed out to the farm with our trusty saw.  We got to the farm and we walked...and walked...and walked.  There is someone in our family who is very picky about his tree...it must be a Frasor fir...must be about 9 feet tall, perfect color, perfect width.  This person shall remain nameless.  Combine this elusive tree with two crabby kids and a mom that may have had one too many glasses of wine at her sister's surprise birthday party the night before....and this tree hunt was quickly turning into a disaster.  I think I was just as whiny as a 4 year old.  After about an hour, Kevin had had about enough.  So, we called it quits and left.  But, we got some pictures!!!!  The next day, we went to the tree lot and bought a lovely Frasor fir that looks beautiful in our family room.  Oh well, better luck next year!!!
